August 8th marks the opening of the Lion's Gate Portal — a moment many view as a powerful alignment for intention, transformation, and collective energy. On this day, we aim to activate a global wave of connection beginning in New Zealand and traveling with the sun across the planet, uniting communities through synchronized moments of reflection, creativity, music, meditation, and shared human experience.
To bring the world together in real time, we will be hosting a global livestream accessible to all. As each region awakens and participates, the stream will evolve into a continuous tapestry of voices, cultures, and collective intention — a living reminder that even across borders and distance, humanity remains deeply interconnected.

As part of documenting the Global Peace Activation movement, we've partnered with the team behind Empathy Revolution — a feature documentary exploring one of the most urgent questions of our time: what happens when we lose connection to ourselves, each other, and our emotional lives?
The film follows mental health leader and InTruth founder Nicole Gibson as she investigates the growing impact of emotional disconnection, artificial intelligence, emotional data sovereignty, and the future of human connection in the digital age.
At a time when our emotions, behaviors, and attention are increasingly being tracked, influenced, and monetized, Empathy Revolution explores the urgent need to better understand, name, and protect our emotional worlds — and whether empathy itself may become one of the most important forces shaping our future.
As part of this global initiative, we are inviting communities large and small to help document the movement in real time — capturing gatherings, moments of connection, reflections, and acts of collective intention to form a living global portrait of humanity seeking peace.
What if peace wasn't just an ideal — but something we could measure?
GPA in partnership with IN TRUTH is building what will be the largest dataset ever collected on the human nervous system — gathered across a global, coordinated series of Peace Activation events. Participants wear biometric sensors during shared experiences designed to shift the nervous system out of stress and into coherence.
The data tells us something profound: what peace actually looks like in the body — across cultures, geographies, and communities.
Our ambition is to map the architecture of peace. To understand the physiological conditions under which humans experience safety, connection, and calm — at scale — and then to use that knowledge to inform the systems we design: workplaces, schools, cities, healthcare, and beyond.
This is one of the most rigorous, real-world studies of human coherence ever attempted.
August 8th is the ignition — but this movement does not end there.
From the Lion's Gate on 08.08.2026 through to the United Nations' International Day of Peace on September 21st, we are calling on every node to keep their community activated. Forty-four days of sustained collective intention — local gatherings, shared practices, ongoing connection — building toward a single, unified crescendo on World Peace Day.
On September 21st, the 150+ nodes of the Global Peace Activation will join millions around the world already marking this day. Our contribution is a coordinated, simultaneous moment of peace — the same wave that began in New Zealand on August 8th, now amplified by six weeks of momentum and presence.
Between the two dates, participating communities are invited to hold regular gatherings — weekly circles, meditations, creative events, or acts of service — each one logged as part of the global record. We are not building a single moment. We are building a practice.

A node is any community gathering that takes place on August 8th, 2026 as part of the Global Peace Activation. It can be a meditation circle, a concert, a ceremony, a community meal, a yoga class, or any shared experience where people come together with intention. Each node registers in advance and receives a guide for how to synchronise your moment of collective peace with communities around the world.
No. Nodes can be led by individuals, grassroots groups, spiritual communities, businesses, schools, or formal organisations. What matters is that you have a community — people who gather around you and trust your leadership.
There is no minimum. A node can be ten people in a living room or ten thousand in a stadium. Every gathering counts. What we are building is breadth — 150+ nodes across as many cultures, geographies, and traditions as possible.
Absolutely. Sign up to our mailing list and we'll notify you when a node near you is confirmed. You'll be able to join an existing community gathering, or simply participate from home during the global livestream.
Each node is free to design its own experience. We provide a suggested framework — a shared moment of silence, intention-setting, and collective breath — but the form it takes is entirely up to you and your community. We encourage music, movement, ceremony, art, and whatever creates the deepest sense of presence and connection for your people.
A single leader can only be physically present in one place, but you can absolutely submit multiple nodes if you have trusted facilitators to lead each gathering. Each node needs a designated lead on the ground.
The Event
August 8th marks the annual opening of the Lion's Gate Portal — an astrological alignment between the Earth, the star Sirius, and the Orion constellation. Many traditions view this as a powerful window for intention, transformation, and collective energy. We chose this date to align with a moment already recognised across many cultures as significant for inner work and conscious evolution.
The activation travels with the sun, beginning in New Zealand and moving westward across the planet throughout the day. Each region will have a designated window aligned with local morning hours. A full regional time guide will be distributed to all registered nodes closer to the date.
The livestream will be freely accessible to anyone with an internet connection. The link will be shared with all registered nodes and published on this site in the lead-up to August 8th. No subscription or payment is required.
We designed the activation to travel with the sun precisely to honour every time zone. That said, if your local window is genuinely inaccessible, you are welcome to hold your gathering at the most suitable time on the day and join the global livestream at whatever point works for your community.
No. The Global Peace Activation is non-denominational, non-partisan, and independent of any government or institution. It is open to people of all faiths, backgrounds, and worldviews. The only prerequisite is a belief that humanity is capable of more — and a willingness to show up for that possibility together.
Data & InTruth
InTruth is building a first-of-its-kind dataset on the human nervous system in states of collective peace. The data is used to map the physiological conditions of coherence, safety, and calm — and ultimately to inform the design of healthier systems in workplaces, schools, cities, and healthcare. Participants retain ownership of their personal data. InTruth collects anonymised, aggregated data only, and no individual's data is sold or shared with third parties. Full data governance details are outlined in the InTruth participant consent process.
No. The biometric data study is entirely optional. You can participate fully in the Global Peace Activation — as a node leader or attendee — without wearing a sensor or contributing to the research.
All data collected through this site and the InTruth research program is handled in compliance with applicable privacy laws. Email addresses collected through our mailing list are used solely to keep you informed about the activation and will never be sold or shared.
Donation & Support
No. Participation as a node leader or community member is completely free. Donations support the production of the Empathy Revolution documentary, the research infrastructure, and the logistics of coordinating a global event.
Funds go directly toward three areas: the Empathy Revolution documentary production, the biometric research program in partnership with InTruth, and the operational costs of coordinating the global activation — including the livestream, node support, and communications.

The Documentary
All registered nodes will receive a simple filming guide before August 8th. We encourage every community — large or small — to capture their gathering: the setting, the people, the moments of connection. Footage can be submitted through a link that will be shared with all nodes after the event. By submitting, you grant the production team permission to include your footage in the film and associated materials.
